How the Calculator Works

Tropical Climate Adjustment
Malaysian heat and humidity require 25% more cooling capacity than temperate-climate calculations. This tool applies a 1.25× tropical adjustment automatically.

Ceiling and Exposure Adjustments
High ceilings add 10% and a west-facing room in full afternoon sun adds another 10%. A shaded north-facing room can reduce the requirement by 10%.

HP Recommendation
The BTU total is mapped to the nearest standard HP rating available in Malaysia — 0.75, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 or 2.5 HP wall units.
Note: This estimate assumes standard insulation, no major heat sources and typical Malaysian conditions. A licensed technician can confirm the right size on-site — and we'll never recommend a larger unit than you actually need.
